It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Councillor Ian Hammond after a short illness. Ian joined the Town Council in 2019 and was a passionate environmentalist who made a significant contribution to the forthcoming Neighbourhood Plan. Ian suggested and began working on many environmental ideas with the Town Council and we hope to be able to continue this and implement some of them as his lasting legacy. Message from Chelmsford City Council You can no longer pick up EXTRA rolls of recycling bags for plastics from Champions Manor Hall or South Woodham Ferrers Library. This is to cut down on single-use plastics and to stop recycling bags being misused. However, we will continue to deliver one roll of plastic sacks (52 bags on each roll) to each household in Chelmsford once a year. If residents run out of bags, we are also happy to collect recycling in any non-branded bags, as long as they are made of clear plastic. These can be brought from supermarkets or even re-purpose any clear plastic bags that come with products you buy. Read More...
